I'm sorry, but I must tell you that the village is called Salinas de Añana, not acana.

Thank you very much,

Hello,
I went to Traba this summer. Traba is a beautiful beach indeed. Nature has been respected. The mountains, sand and sea shape a incredible landscape. A lot of surfers on their motor homes go there to surf. It's absolutely recommendable.
By the way, Traba is in Laxe, not in Camariñas.
Regards,
Xocas

Le Jardin de la Musica in Elda is a location I see every morning on my way to work. Depending on the time of day, it is peaceful and a place for contemplation or it is noisy so as to be disruptive. In the early evening, it is a place where young people seem to congregate and smoke cigarettes. The space is fantastic but totally unappreciated. There is a wonderful space within that would be perfect for a cafe and indeed there was one there at some point but no one I've spoken with knows what happened. Music should be floating out of there all the time yet it stands empty. The house itself that acted as a hospital during the war is damaged and is in need of repair.

I spent a quiet Sunday afternoon there. It was about 12:30 p.m. and there were a few visitors in there but they were adults and young families. There are different types of parakeets and birds housed there in a huge cage and if you can stand the racket, it's worth it to just have a look. I would prefer to hear music and water but alas it's not there right now. Also, radio Elda has its building right inside there as well. There are beautiful palm trees worth taking the time to appreciate. There is a planned garden area but there isn't much there right now.

If you are here, take the time to stop and see it and get a feel for it.

Socovos is a lovely clean town. The people are friendly and helpful. It is set in an area of outstanding natural beauty and when it rains the whole area changes. This area is very good for walking, driving, cycling and motorcycling. There are a few places to stay and lots of places to eat.

On Thursday of each week there is a very good local market. Speaking some English and French is common. Socovos is a very pleasant place to spend a few days holiday and there is camping nearby. A visit to the Moorish castle is a must.

If you need information, the chap who runs La Candela restaurant in Socovos seems to know every one and every thing so this might be a good point of contact. If La Candela is closed the family who run the restaurant/bar at Tazona [3 miles away] are always very helpful.

When driving though this area, watch out for the Hoopoo birds which are bright orange and extreemly glamourous.
